This week (21st - 27th September) is #NationalEyeHealthWeek! As part of this, I will be revealing (in my opinion) the 7 Eye "Sins".

Today we start with Sin No.1 - Not Having Your Eyes Tested Regularly!

Your eyes can tell us a lot about what's going on in the rest of your body. Conditions such as Glaucoma, Age-related macular degeneration (AMD), high/low blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes and brain tumours can all be picked up by the Optometrist when looking in to your eyes. (See my blog post "The Eyes are the Window to Your Soul" for more information.) So even if you don't wear spectacles or don't think you have any problems with your eyes, you should still get them tested every 1-2 years (based on your Optometrist's recommendation).

As discussed at length in my post "The Importance of Having Your Child's Sight Tested BEFORE They Start School", it is equally as important to ensure that your child has their eyes tested regularly too!
